Sarah Stretton

Board Secretary and Child Welfare Liaison

Sarah Stretton first came to the Grand Bahama Children’s Home as a volunteer with a group called ‘Friends Of The Home’ who assisted with fundraising. She now serves as Board Secretary for the 2021 GBCH Board of Directors and Child Welfare Liaison. In this role, Sarah oversees child welfare, volunteers, training and incident reporting in collaboration with the Department of Social Services. Sarah was born and raised in Essex, England and attended Thurrock Technical College, completing the NNEB in Nursery Teaching. After qualifying in 1998, she worked as a nursery care worker until moving to Spain
and starting a family. In July 2011, Sarah and her family relocated to Grand Bahama where they currently run their family rental property. Since making Grand Bahama their home, Sarah has volunteered with the Regency Theatre, sitting on the board as Front of House Manager and also serving a term as Vice President of the Freeport Players Guild. She is actively involved in her church, Lucaya Presbyterian, and coordinates their dynamic youth group called IMPACT, which also assists with the church’s monthly food program. Sarah is married and she and her husband have two children.
